Opportunity for Public Comment on Proposed Service Changes

In an effort to improve quality of service, GBT is proposing the following service changes. More information on these proposals will be available during a series of public outreach sessions and a public hearing, on the dates and times listed below:

No Proposed Service Changes

GBT is not proposing changes to the Coastal Link, Route 3, Route 4, Route 5, Route 6, Route 7, Route 8, Route 10, Route 13, Route 15, Route 22x or Route 23.

 

Proposed Bus Stop Consolidations – Local Bridgeport Service

GBT is proposing to move and/or relocate a number of stops on Route 1, along Barnum Avenue and Route 9, along East Main Street, for the purpose of improving schedule adherence and promoting safety.

 

Proposed Route 9 Deviation to Quarry Road - Trumbull

GBT is proposing the introduction of new weekday, hourly deviations, of the Route 9, to medical and office buildings located on Quarry Road, in Trumbull. This proposal will result in hourly service to the Hawley Lane Mall, which is currently serviced every half hour.


Proposed Route 16 Schedule Adjustment – Local Stratford Service

GBT is proposing minor schedule adjustments to the Route 16 schedule, to help improve connection times with the Route 9 and Route 15, at Hawley Lane Mall.

 

Route 17 Weekday Service – Cross Town Bridgeport Service

GBT is proposing to keep the weekday, Route 17 bus, on North Avenue, instead of deviating it onto Wells Street and Housatonic Avenue, after 4:30 pm.

 

Route 19x Service – State Route 111, Trumbull and Monroe

GBT is proposing to add three round trips, to the Route 19x schedule.

 

Route 14 Service – Local Trumbull Service

GBT is proposing to modify this route, so that it can be used to carry passengers to businesses on State Route 25 (Main Street), in Monroe. This proposal will provide service from the Westfield Trumbull Mall, to Trumbull Town Hall, Saint Joseph’s Manor and businesses on State Route 25 (Main Street), with three morning and three afternoon trips.

 

GBT is proposing two variations of this schedule, one which will travel as far north on State Route 25 (Main Street) as Upper Stepney and the other, which will travel as far north as Pepper Street, in Monroe.

Tropical Storm Watch – Jose | GBT Alert# 1

This is the time of year when we review our emergency procedures and plans to be sure we are able to keep our services running during severe weather and, if there is an interruption, to resume service as soon as possible following a storm. Part of our preparations include letting our riders and communities know where to go for information about service changes or cancellations during storms of any kind.

Plan ahead, stay safe and keep in touch.
