Each year, the Connecticut Association for Community Transportation (CACT) recognizes staff from transit agencies across the State for “Excellence in Transportation.” This year, GBT Driver and Trainer James Gantt Jr. was one of the recipients of this award.
James Gantt has been an operator with Greater Bridgeport Transit for 22 years. During that time, James has distinguished himself in the performance of his work through a superb safety record and excellent customer service. James has been promoted to driver trainer where he now spends part of his time bringing his expertise in safety and customer service to GBT’s new driver recruits.
In addition to his duties as driver and trainer, James serves as a member of GBT’s Service Review Committee, which makes recommendations for route and schedule improvements and regularly represents GBT at the Annual Statewide Roadeo.
Anyone who travels with James on one of his regular routes will immediately recognize how well liked he is in the community through his interactions with GBT customers. He is dedicated, clearly loves his work and it shows. And it is for these reasons and James’ overall contributions to GBT’s services, that he received the CACT Excellence in Transportation Award. Congratulations James!
