Everyone knows GBT as the bus service in the region, but we also participate in many different projects related to transportation at the local, regional, state and federal levels. Below are several projects we're currently participating in.

Long Range Transit Plan, 2015

Over the last year, GBT has been working with the public, community partners and consultants to create a long term transit vision for the region. In September 2015, we held community meetings to share our findings with the public. MORE INFO >>

Regional Transit Oriented Development Plan, 2013-2015

A plan is being created to improve travel options in the region, from bike and walking paths to buses and train connections. By strengthening the region’s transportation network through improvements to transit links between communities, neighborhoods will benefit. We're partnering with the Greater Bridgeport Regional Council to create this plan. MORE INFO >>

Detour on GBT Rt 8 – Alert#2:
Due to road closures and construction at Main St and Fairfield Ave in downtown Bridgeport, GBT Route 8 is detouring as follows: Bus departs from the bus station, turning right onto Water St, left on Congress St, and then right on Main St to resume the regular route. The route is reversed on the return.

Detour on GBT Rt 8

Due to road closures, GBT route 8 will be using Congress street in both directions. Passengers who usually board or alight at the train station on Water Street should use the bus terminal.

BOC Meeting Cancellation
The July 11, 2018 Board of Commissioners Meeting has been cancelled. There will be a Special Meeting on July 17, 2018 at 6:30 PM. More Info>>
