Clean Technology Buses

GBT is in the process of retrofitting over 70% of it's bus fleet with EPA-approved clean technology filtration systems which:

  • reduce particulate matter by 90%
  • redue Carbon Monoxide by 85%
  • reduce Hydro Carbons by 85%

 

Retrofitted busses not only are cleaner but also are approximately 11% more efficient.

 

“The repowering of these engines will provide numerous benefits to the riders in Bridgeport and the taxpayers of Connecticut,” according to Ron Kilcoyne, General Manager and CEO of GBT. “We will be reducing our dependence on non-renewable resources by improving fuel efficiency by around eleven percent.”

CL Detour in Norwalk on SAT 10/20/18, 9:30AM - 12:15PM

There will be road closures in South Norwalk on Saturday due to a half-marathon. The CL will detour as follows:

From Bridgeport toward Norwalk:

  • Once in Norwalk, the bus will take Westport Ave to North Ave
  • Then a left onto Main St 
  • Then a right on Burnell to return to regular route

From Norwalk toward Bridgeport

  • The bus will take a right out of the Norwalk Wheels Hub
  • Then a right onto Cross St
  • Then straight up North Ave to Westport Ave to resume regular route
