GBT Represents at the Roadeo

34th Annual Connecticut Public Bus Driver Competition

On Sunday, May 3rd, 2026, the Connecticut Roadeo brought together transit professionals from across the state for a day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and a chance to showcase the skill it takes to handle a bus safely and precisely. GBT showed up strong — and came home with awards.

Five GBT drivers took to the course this year: Willie Correa, James Gantt, Marvester Robinson, Jackie Mercado, and Rico Boyd. Behind the scenes, nine GBT volunteers — Jennifer Faulk, Rohan Brown, David Rodrigues, Kevin Rivera, Catherine Teasley, Tina Baker, Ondrea Moore, Katina Staton-Sayles, and Christine Michaels — helped make the event run smoothly.

The results speak for themselves. James Gantt took 1st place in the 35-Foot Bus Competition, and Marvester Robinson earned 4th place in the 40-Foot Bus Competition. GBT also claimed the Team Award in the 35-Foot Bus category, with James Gantt, William Correa, and Jackie Mercado uniting for the win.

Service Schedule

On Friday, June 19, 2026, GBT will be operating Saturday service schedules. Routes 19, 22x and 23 will operate regular schedules.
