GBT Fact Book
The Greater Bridgeport Transit (GBT) 2025 Fact Book provides a comprehensive overview of performance and service delivery in the Greater Bridgeport Region.

This annual report presents key data and metrics reflecting GBT’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, clean, reliable, efficient, and accessible public transportation to the communities it serves. From ridership trends and statistics to financial summaries, the Fact Book serves as an essential reference for stakeholders, policymakers, and the public, offering a transparent look at how GBT connects residents to jobs, healthcare, education, and opportunities.
As GBT exhausts the federal pandemic relief funding that currently supports its operations, a substantial budget shortfall is projected in FY 2027 (beginning July 1, 2026). This budget gap will hamper GBT’s ability to maintain its full scope of services. GBT is advocating for new State funding to fill this budget gap. If new funding is not available, GBT will have to make the difficult decision to significantly reduce our services to the community. GBT will be announcing the full scope of those potential reductions in the coming weeks. It is critical that new, sustainable and adequate funding be allocated to GBT, to preserve current transit access.
“Over the last few months, we’ve been advocating behind the scenes for additional public funding by reaching out to legislators and other key officials in the state. We hope that you can help us by reaching out to legislators too.”
―Steven DeMichele, GBT CEO
