Long-term Detours
Routes 5 & 7 Detour in Fairfield
Due to construction on the Commerce Street Bridge in Fairfield, the routes 5 & 7 buses will detour on the outbound route to Fairfield, as follows:
- From State Street Extension, Right onto I-95 South
- Exit 24 Chambers Street
- Left onto Chambers Street
- Right onto Commerce Drive
- Bus resumes regular route
There is no detour on the inbound route toward Bridgeport at this time.
Road construction in the area is expected to continue through 2027. Stay tuned for possible changes in the future.
Route 23 Detour in Shelton/Derby
Due to Long-Term Bridge Construction, the southbound entrance ramp to State Route 8 is closed in Derby.
Southbound Detour:
- Right onto Main Street in Derby
- Left onto local Derby-Shelton Bridge to Shelton
- Left onto Howe Avenue
- Right onto Center Street
- Bus resumes regular route
The Northbound route is not affected at this time.
Road construction in the area is expected to continue through 2026. Stay tuned for possible changes in the future.
